Cainan Balagia was born in Austin, Texas, and graduated as salutatorian from Cornerstone Christian Schools in San Antonio. He went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Government with highest honors from Oral Roberts University, where he was a Fellow in the Honors Program and was recognized with the President’s Award and the Outstanding Academic Achievement Award for Government.

Cainan earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Texas School of Law, where he was active with the Texas Hispanic Journal of Law and Policy and the Texas Intellectual Property Law Journal. During law school, he completed more than 200 hours of pro bono service, clerked with Erskine & Blackburn and received the Dean’s Achievement Award for Intensive Litigation Advocacy Skills.

After beginning his legal career representing individuals in criminal matters, Cainan shifted his focus to personal injury law. At Erskine & Blackburn, he focuses exclusively on advocating for injured clients and is driven by a deep commitment to justice.

Cainan is married to Alexa Balagia, OTR. Together, they are raising their son and their newest addition, a joy-filled baby girl. Their family also includes two dogs. They enjoy traveling, skiing, hiking, and playing board games.
