I was born on May 14, 1963, in Pampa, Texas. Both my father and stepfather were career U.S. servicemen and thus I grew up throughout the United States. Graduated Allen High School, Allen, Texas, and attended undergraduate at the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas. I obtained my Bachelor in Business Administration – Finance in 1985 and then attended law school at Baylor Law School in Waco,Texas. I was a member of the Baylor Law Review and started my legal career in Dallas, Texas, with Strasburger and Price LLP. I practiced in the Dallas office of S&P for eight years specializing in products liability litigation. Moved to Austin in 1997 and helped to manage and rebuild the S&P Austin office specializing in products, commercial and general litigation until our formation of Erskine & Blackburn LLP in 2001
I am married to my wife Shelli who was born and raised in Texarkana, Texas. We are blessed with three beautiful daughters Laura Lee, Lindsy and Lily. We are members and are active in Austin Christian Fellowship ('ACF') Church. I am an avid fly and bass fisherman and further enjoy coaching kids, hunting, skiing, church activities and sports.
